Kids and Families
Feel free to bring the kids with you to the Nordic House. We love getting visited by children and we often host children’s concerts, theatre, and other activities. Here is a little information for those of you who will visit the house with children.
Family-Friendly café
At café Systrar, there is plenty of room and relaxing surroundings. Especially the smoothies, shakes, and delicious Saturday brunches are somewhat of a magnet for families with kids. Many children enjoy drawing at the table. If the creative urge suddenly emerges, you are more than welcome to get pens (disinfected) and paper from the reception. Here you can also borrow games and books.
Fun and Games
The Nordic House is an exciting place with plenty of things to see and touch, and many areas to play in. But we also frequently have exhibitions and works of art, which we care deeply for and adult visitors who could be working or having a business meeting. Therefore, children must be under supervision and we expect that running, yelling, climbing, and so on will be exercised outside the House. Our grassy areas are good for playing and burning off energy.
Baby Carriages
Our wooden floors are a bit delicate and, unfortunately, are not built for baby carriages. But you can easily watch your baby from the café if you place the carriage to the right of the main entrance. You are also welcome to park the baby carriage in our outside atria. It is a bit closer, and handy if you, for example, are going to a parental leave talk in the Skálin.
Changing Stations
We have changing stations on both levels in the accessible toilets.
Breastfeeding
You are welcome to breastfeed wherever you want in the house.
Kindergartens and Schools
If you arrive in a big group, for example to eat packed lunches, we recommend that you call ahead to ensure there is space.
We look forward to seeing you in the Nordic House
