The Winners of the Nordic Council Prizes 2024 have been announced
Congratulations to the winners of the 2024 Nordic Council Prizes!
On October 22, in a TV show from Reykjavik, the winners of this year's prizes were revealed.
The Environment Prize
Icelandic architect Arnhildur Palmadottir won the prize for her focus on reducing CO2 emissions in the construction industry. An inspiring effort for a more sustainable future.
The Children and Young People's Literature Prize
Danish illustrator Jakob Martin Strid received the prize for The Fantastic Bus – a picture book celebrating the power of imagination and community.
The Music Prize
Danish composer Rune Glerup won for his beautiful violin concerto On Lightness and Ease, created in close collaboration with violinist Isabelle Faust and commissioned by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
The Film Prize
The Norwegian film Sex, written and directed by Dag Johan Haugerud and produced by Yngve Sæther and Hege Hauff Hvattum, took home the film prize. A clever and thought-provoking comedy that explores human relationships.
The Literature Prize
Norwegian author Niels Fredrik Dahl won the prize for Father's Back. A novel that shows how loneliness is passed down from generation to generation, and how difficult, almost impossible, it is to gain clarity about what fundamentally shapes human life.
