The Nordic House cancels events

In accordance with the recommendations by the Faroese authorities in connection with COVID-19, the Nordic House has decided to cancel all events up to and including 30 April. The house will be closed from Monday 16 March until Thursday 1 May.

Anyone, who has purchased tickets for events that are cancelled in this period can get a refund by emailing their booking reference and account details to nlh@nlh.fo.

The café Systrar will stay open as usual this weekend and will close on Monday. All service will be done over the counter – i.e. there will be no buffét. Instead of their popular brunch, they will be serving a nice breakfast platter on Saturday from 10.00-14.00. The tables in the café have been re-arranged to ensure that guests are not sitting too closely together.

Nordic House staff will mostly be working from home. Emails will be checked and general enquiries should be sent to nlh@nlh.fo.

We will receive telephone calls Tuesdays and Thursdays between two and four o’clock.

The Nordic House will use the time during the closure to undertake maintenance work which doesn’t require many people to be at work at the same time. Contracts with private service providers such as cleaners will remain unchanged in order to minimise the financial effects on small businesses.
