Open Call - Pan-ArcticVision 2026

Deadline: May 20, 2026

Pan-ArcticVision is a music competition for Arctic countries. If you are a Faroese singer or musician, you now have the opportunity to represent the Faroe Islands in an international music competition that Guðrið Hansdóttir, Ester Skála, and Dóttir participated in during 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Pan-ArcticVision is a unique opportunity to come together, build connections, and strengthen the Arctic—a showcase of Arctic music and Arctic realities—a display of Arctic strength, energy, power, and vitality.

This year, the Pan-ArcticVision competition will be held at the Nordic House on Friday evening, October 2, and will be streamed live to viewers across the Arctic.

Pan-ArcticVision is looking for:

The music
Your contribution can be a song, a piece of music, rap, a composition, or something else that you (or possibly several of you) will perform live on stage. The maximum allowed length is 4 minutes.

A focus on the Arctic
Although the competition is called Pan-ArcticVision, we are not looking for the typical Eurovision-style song. Pan-ArcticVision emphasises the cultures of the various regions in the Arctic—how they are similar and how they differ. We especially welcome songs in your native language (i.e., not in English for those whose first language is not English), traditional musical culture, and the blending of musical styles across regions. We also welcome lyrics that reflect conditions in your part of the Arctic and Nordic issues—political topics are also welcome! We are looking for quality, but there are no restrictions on genre, age, ideology, or worldview—avant-garde styles are also welcome. Do something unique!

Submissions must include:

  • Link(s) to recordings you have previously made of the music/song you are submitting
  • A description of your idea for the Pan-ArcticVision contribution (only if you have one)
  • A few lines about yourself and your connection to the Arctic (your cultural and professional background)
  • A photo of yourself

Selection committee
Your submission will be evaluated by a committee consisting of local representatives and Pan-ArcticVision representatives (the committee may also select participants directly, contact applicants directly, or invite artists to apply).

Deadline: May 20, 2026

To submit, visit: panarcticvision.org

If you are selected
You will perform at the Nordic House for a live audience on October 2, 2026. The competition will be streamed live across the Arctic.

You will also meet many passionate and talented participants from across the Arctic, and you will perform a song together.

In addition, you will be featured in a video introducing you and where you come from. Recordings will be made by a production team on site (or you may film yourself).

You will take part in joint events and rehearsals in the days leading up to October 2.

Travel, accommodation, and food will be covered by the organisers (for up to 2 participants). Groups receive €1500 in compensation, and individuals receive €1000.

This is a unique opportunity to build new Arctic collaborations and connections, gain exposure to an international Nordic audience and media, and be part of a bold and exciting journey.

— Amund Sjølie Sveen, artist & musician, director of Pan-ArcticVision
