OPEN CALL: Contribute to the Children’s Democracy Festival 2027

The Nordic House in the Faroe Islands invites artists, creators, educators, organisations and engaged cultural workers based in the Nordic region to contribute to our Children’s Democracy Festival, taking place 24–28 February 2027.

Our first democracy festival, held in March 2026, was a great success and generated wide interest and engagement. We now wish to further develop and strengthen the festival as a Nordic platform for art, participation and democracy for children.

What are we looking for?
The festival focuses on democracy, community, participation and children’s voices. We are looking for workshops, performances, exhibitions and artistic projects that explore and communicate these themes through creative and participatory formats.

This could include creative workshops, democracy workshops, performances, music, installations or projects where children themselves are co-creators and develop their own forms of expression. We are interested in projects that engage with justice, freedom of expression, diversity and collaboration — physical or digital, local or Nordic.

This year, we are particularly interested in projects exploring media in a broad sense. The festival’s primary target group is children aged 6–13.

Projects must be fully produced. We do not accept applications for ideas in development or unfinished concepts.

Please submit the following as a PDF
