We now call for applications from artists, who wish to participate in the school touring programme Listaleypurin in the school year 2013-14.
The deadline for applications is April 17th. An application form can be downloaded in the right margin.
Applications must be accompanied by documentation of the work you apply to include.
Listaleypurin
Listaleypurin is a touring programme, bringing quality art to primary schools over the entire Faroe Islands.
The project is arranged by the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands in collaboration with the Municipalities, represented by Kommunusamskipan Føroya and Føroya Kommunufelag, and jointly funded by the Nordic House, the municipalities and the Faroese Ministry of Culture and Education.
A broad range of artistic events are offered each year.
Particular attention is given to reaching all age ranges and to reach out to the entire country. The Artist’s visits in Listaleypurin are free of charge for the sdchools in those municipalities, which have chosen to take part – at this point representing 90% of the population. Teachers and students request events on the homepage. The project coordinator sets up the touring schedules in communication with schools and artists.
The model project is the Norwegian “The Cultural Rucksack”, a project reaching back well over a decade and today encompassing several hundred events each year.
Many of the best artists in the Faroes, as well as a number of Nordic and international guest performers, have participated in Listaleypurin. The catalogue for 2011-2012 (in Faroese) can be found in the right margin, as well as application sheets for artists.
